life as a work of art

This is an interesting sentiment. So this dude thinks everyone's life can, and should, be a work of art. Ok, but this then begs the question as to what a work of art is...which is a really subjective question and I think you can ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. Art is certainly a creation. Creating music, sculpture, painting, etc. But the artist, I think, must also have something to go off of, something to inspire him in his creation, and what is most commonly used as inspiration, well actually what is the only thing to use as inspiration, is the life experience itself.

So its kind of circular really, I think. One's life is art, but art is one's life. Very well. So which influences the other more? Does art influence life or does life influence art? Upon first look it is easy to say life influences art (the artist looks at something then paints it.) But looking a little deeper the other is also true, I think. Looking at art, listening to music, etc we are given a vision of what life should be like, sometimes. Lyrics are influential. Television highly influential in today's day and age although is that really art? Unfortunately yes, I think. The list could go on. But essentially I think that this dude thinks art and life are synonymous and I can agree with that.
